The bag arrived flat, which I appreciate since I feared it might be shipped folded which sometimes leaves creases in straw items. The straw is actually be a poly but it's hard to tell, plus it's softer against my skin that real straw would be. The lining isn't very thick, but you can't see through to what's inside. The straps are well secured and look fine despite not being leather. It's a summer bag after all, and besides, 'vegan leather' is all the range now. I plan to use it as my summer run around town bag, and expect it should last me at least a a few summers which makes it a good value for $20.
